Introduction

So... Why Japan?

I love Japan.

Like, really love it. The culture, the food, the history, the tiny little details that makes it what it is, all of it.

This blog is my little place for diving deeper into everything that makes Japan my favourite place on earth. Whether it’s learning about traditional crafts, trying out weird things, exploring beautiful places, or just nerding out over small cultural quirks - I’m here for the whole adventure.

Like a lot of people, my first taste of Japan came through anime.

And before you roll your eyes, yes, I do believe anime can be and has been culturally important. I’ll probably be getting into that at a later stage, so stay tuned.

After years of binge-watching, reading, and daydreaming, I finally got to go to Japan as an exchange student when I was 17. It didn’t go exactly as planned, I had to head home earlier than expected, but it was still an unforgettable experience. I met incredible people (some who are basically like family now), and I saw places that honestly didn’t feel real. Words and pictures can only do so much.

So I went back, and I went back again… 

And even after all that?

I still can’t get enough. I want more. I’m starving for it.
